As part of our Science lessons, we explored the Botanical Gardens in Birmingham, which contain over 7,000 different plants from all around the world.
We took a trip through the stunning glasshouses and explored ways that plants have adapted to survive and thrive in different climates.
Next, we discovered more about plants that can be eaten and how some plants are used to make different types of products.
In the afternoon, our guide Ruth took us through the Tropical House. The humid atmosphere simulates the conditions of the tropics. In small groups, we were able to discuss the characteristics of this habitat as part of our rainforest challenge.
Year 2 look forward to continue their learning back at school!
