On Friday 27th May, St Gerard’s celebrated Her Majesty’s Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee with a fun packed day of royal celebrations.
We all dressed up in the Union Jack colours of red, white and blue to honour The Queen, who has become the first British Monarch to celebrate a Platinum Jubilee after 70 years of service.
The celebrations started with a whole school assembly looking at the life of Her Majesty and everyone singing the National Anthem. The highlight of the day was when the whole school, from Nursery to Year 6, gathered in the playground for a wonderful picnic.
There was lots of excitement and waving of flags as everyone tucked into a picnic lunch with an extra special treat from the ice cream man!
