On Tuesday 14th June, Year 6 visited St Mary’s College, Oscott. We spent the day with some of the 65 seminarians, including Peter, who has spent time in our school helping with liturgies, prayer services and altar server training.
They took us on a tour of the college, which included the museum. We looked at a number of artefacts and relics. The seminarians shared their experiences of training and were open to questions from the children.
It was both informative and thought provoking and we were honoured to spend time with these inspiring future priests.
During this month of June, when we venerate the Sacred Heart, it was fitting that we concluded with a celebration of Holy Mass in the beautiful chapel.
“I found it interesting seeing the museum and all the things they have collected over the years,” said Shay.
Lewis commented, “I learnt about how you trained to be a priest.”
