We celebrated the Feast Day of our School Patron, St Gerard. Children from the Spiritual Council prepared and led a whole school Mass. They wrote their own bidding prayers and selected the hymns, which were sang beautifully, making it a wonderful celebration!
We are reminded that St Gerard lived a life of poverty and ill-health, however he is a perfect role-model to us as his heart was always filled with compassion and he was known for his selfless nature. With this in mind and living out the message in Pope Francis’ letter ‘Laudato Si’, Spiritual Council led a Harvest collection to donate food to our local food bank, Spitfire Services. The food will be distributed to our brothers and sisters in need around Castle Vale.
Thank you to everyone in the St Gerard’s community for your continued generosity.
