We celebrated Spanish Day at St Gerard’s, which gave our children the opportunity to explore the culture and customs of other Spanish speaking countries in the world.
Everyone arrived at school dressed in the flag colours of a Spanish speaking country, then children tasted some delicious warm churros with chocolate sauce and dulce de leche (toffee caramel). Delicioso!
During the day, each class researched a different country and custom, created wonderful artwork, learnt how to dance the Flamenco and had the opportunity to sample lots of different food and drink from Spain and Mexico.
To conclude, we ended the day with a whole school assembly to share our learning and demonstrate the progress we have made in our Spanish lessons with family and friends.
