We gathered to remember the service and sacrifice of all those that have defended our freedoms and protected our way of life. We reflected on their courage, perseverance and commitment as they faced difficult circumstances.
By wearing our poppies, we show support for those who lost their lives on active service, from the beginning of the First World War, right up to the present day.
As a mark of respect, at 11am St Gerard’s School fell silent for two minutes, then, during the day children wrote heartfelt prayers and thought about how we can become peacemakers at school and at home.
‘At the going down of the sun and in the morning, we will remember them.’
