Thursday 6th March 2025 was World Book Day! The children were dressed in pyjamas to remind them how important it is to read before bed.

The day started with an assembly which outlined how children can get their free books, some top tips from authors and our mystery readers were revealed to be Dan and Emily from One Life Music! Shortly after the assembly finished the one and only ITV News came in to interview Mrs Bannister and some children about the special day and why they love reading so much!

Throughout the rest of the day, the whole school read ‘Here We Are’ by Oliver Jeffers and took part in varying activities. Mrs O’Loughlin rang her bell to notify everyone to stop what they are doing and read for a few minutes. KS2 took part in the BBC Live Lesson for World Book Day where they thought about which genres they enjoy the most and where they love to read.

After school, children had the opportunity to stay and have a bedtime story read to them alongside a hot chocolate!
