Event - Christmas Week

16 to 20 December 2019

"At this Christmas when Christ comes, will He find a warm heart? Mark the season of Advent by loving and serving others with God’s own love and concern."
Saint Mother Teresa

We have enjoyed a busy autumn term leading up to the Christmas preparations.

Due to your great support at the Christmas Fair, it was a fantastic success as we raised over £2300. Well done to everyone involved.

On Wednesday, we held our Christmas lunch wearing brightly coloured festive jumpers. Each class has also held their own parties with dancing, games and treats.

On Thursday, the whole school sang beautifully at the Carol Concert accompanied by members of the recorder club. Children from reception class started the service by singing the traditional carol, ‘Away in a manger’.

Year 4 led the end of term mass, during which we said goodbye to our Head Teacher, Mrs Buck, who has retired and Mr Ryan, a school governor with over twenty years’ service to St Gerard’s. We wish them both happiness for the future.

"Thank you to everyone within the St Gerard’s community for your continued help and support. Have a happy and holy Christmas and best wishes to you all for 2020! Christmas is joy, religious joy, an inner joy of light and peace."
Pope Francis
