Event - Feast of Saint Gerard

16 October 2017

"During a Holy Hour we grow more and more into His likeness"
Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen

The whole school celebrated the Feast of St Gerard today with a Mass in church in the morning, this was followed by a procession with the Blessed Sacrament back to school.

We gathered together in the school hall as Fr Soji prayed over the Blessed Sacrament in order to honour the Holy Eucharist.

During the day each class spent some time in 'Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament'. They shared appropriate Scripture readings, read prayers written by the children, said prayers collectively, sang hymns and spent time praying in silence. It was a wonderful opportunity for the children to be close to Jesus.

Towards the end of the day the whole school gathered together for a short service, where Father blessed us all with the Holy Eucharist. The choir sang 'Tantum Ergo', a beautiful Latin hymn. We ended by repeating the 'Divine Praises'.

It was a very prayerful and reflective day.
