Event - Harvest

5 September 2019

During the summer term, each class planted seeds in our school garden. Eco Club helped to water the seeds over the following weeks.

On our return to school, we were amazed by how much our crops had grown which were now ready to harvest. The word ‘harvest’ comes from the Old English word haerfest meaning ‘autumn’, the season for gathering the food of the land.

Each class harvested their crop and had the opportunity to taste the produce. Additionally, Year 3 and Year 6 joined together for a prayer service, thanking God for the sun and the rain which provided us with a bountiful harvest.
