Event - House Saints Assembly

27 February 2018

Children and staff in St Gerard's School were asked who inspires them in their everyday life. From the collated results, we decided to renew our House Saints.

During assembly today, Year 6 House Captains launched the new House Saints to the rest of the school. Then, children from each house joined to listen to an informative presentation led by their House Captains, who prior to the event had thoroughly researched their individual house saint and prepared a powerpoint.

During the session each house member placed their painted fingerprint on a wooden cross to symbolise that although we are in different houses, we are still part of one body in Christ. This wooden cross is now on display in the school hall.

Madison said, "My speech went really well and it was motivational."

"We chose Saint Teresa of Calcutta because she helped the poor and set an example for others," said Kylah.
