Event - Number Day

7 May 2021

Number Day is a great way to make maths fun and bring about a positive ‘can-do’ attitude towards it. During the day, we had lots of maths and number fun, concentrating on money in ‘real life’ scenarios.

Pupils from Nursery to Year 1 used their imagination to dress as a number, whereas, children from Year 2 – Year 6, dressed as their TT Rockstar Avatar.

As part of the day, we had the opportunity to raise money for thousands of children all over the country who are supported by the charity, NSPCC. Your generosity helped us to raise £200!

Nursery children purchased fruit for the Very Hungry Caterpillar.
We threw balls to match a number.

Reception children played number and shape bingo.
Designing a number game to play at home.

In Year 1, we created a money number line.
These children received Times Tables Rockstar awards.

Year 2 have completed a chart to show the most popular type of salad.
Starting the day with a ‘Super Mover ’session.

Year 3 used their orienteering skills to find a lost dog!
They used coordinates to follow directions.

Year 4 played mathematical board games.
Working with a partner to solve money puzzles.

After a letter from Nestle, Year 5 calculated the number of each colour in a tube of Smarties.
They converted the results into fractions and decimals.

Year 6 planned a party. They had to prioritise the items they wanted to stay within a set budget.
Each group presented their ideas to the class.
