Event - Year 6 Leavers

21 July 2016

Another school year comes to a close and we say a fond goodbye to our Year 6 pupils.

They have had a busy week preparing for a whole school Mass on Wednesday, followed by a parents and families lunch.

On Thursday afternoon they performed their final class assembly 'The Next Big Step' to the rest of the school, parents and friends. This was a wonderful show with lots of laughs and cheering.

At the end of the performance Mr Hird presented each child with a personalised Holy Bible to remember their special time at St Gerard's. As is customary Mr Hird added a few personal memories about each child from when they were younger which created lots of laughter from the audience.

During the day some children commented on things that they would miss about St Gerard's or days that they fondly remember:

Charlie said "I will miss my friends."

Paul said "I really enjoyed our art lessons."

Jessica remembered feeling really proud when her motto suggestion was selected.

"I'll miss school lunches, especially chicken curry" commented Remie.

Oliver, Tallulah and Andrew mentioned that they will also remember the wonderful time that they had at Alton Castle residential, particularly the team building activities.

All the staff at St Gerard's Primary School wish our Year 6 children the very best luck for the future.
