Event - Year 6 Leavers Mass and Assembly

13 and 20 July 2017

As another school year comes to an end we say goodbye to Year 6 pupils, as well as Mr Hird and Mrs Foley.

Our end of term events commenced with Year 6 leading a whole school Leavers Mass on the 13th July, followed by a family buffet in the school hall.

On Thursday 20th July, Year 6 children presented their very last class assembly to the rest of the school, parents and friends. Each child told us of their fondest memories of their time at St Gerard's and also a few embarrassing moments! Then they sang a beautiful song, The Next Big Step and we shared a few tears.

Next Mr Hird presented each child with a beautiful personalised Holy Bible to remember their special time here.

  • "I will miss my friends and our fun PE lessons" said Lorena.
  • "I remember dancing in St Gerard's Got Talent and winning second place" recalled Patric.
  • Niamh said "My favourite trips were eating chocolate at Cadbury World and riding bikes downhill at Alton Castle."

All the staff at St Gerard's Primary School wish our Year 6 children the very best luck and success for the future.

After Leavers Mass we joined our family and friends for a buffet.
We had a great time.

We began our assembly as always with prayers.
We told some funny memories about our time at St Gerard's.

Year 6 singing 'The Next Big Step.'
An emotional end to our last assembly.

During the day we signed each other's shirts.
Friends forever.

Looking forward to our next adventure.
