To kick-start our summer topic, The Seaside, Year 2 enjoyed a fantastic trip to Western-super-Mare. The children explored the seaside town and identified both human and physical features of the coast, helping to bring their classroom learning to life.

They had great fun playing on the beach with buckets and spades, building sandcastles and enjoying the sandy shoreline. We also used our five senses to explore the seaside, thinking about what we could see, hear, smell, touch and taste throughout the day.

To finish our visit, the children enjoyed a traditional seaside meal of fish and chips followed by a delicious ice cream. We also took time to appreciate the beauty of God’s creation all around us. It was a wonderful day filled with learning, exploration and lots of happy memories.
